Sea, land, sky. There is a deep allure to the places where these elements entwine. This collection is intended to evoke the feelings one might experience witnessing the illusive and dreamlike qualities of light as it dances upon shifting currents, gray skies ribboned into rainbow hues, and the sense of mystery found in deep waters and veiled islands of mossy earth.
In creating this collection I drew inspiration from my background as a textile artist. I've long been fascinated by Ikat weaving; a process in which the design is chosen and implemented during the dying of the thread, before the weaving begins. I love the juxtapositions of structure and movement, planning and remaining open to unexpected patterns emerging. The result is a mirage of a place, felt and remembered.
